My first and ... last? day at work.

I like it a whole bunch. It was like Christmas! All the presents were the very same, but I didn't mind unwrapping it as many times as I had. Those new Tiny IBM desktops are quite *HOT* and combined with this businesses ethernet, quite fast! I had a few questions af first, then things went smoothly. On these computers, theres an option for dual screens and I had to switch where I had put the monitor (there were two different areas, one was the main and the other was the optional other screen.) Actually I seemed to have gotten ahead of myself... FIRST we got to kill a bunch of old Dells (optiplex models *shudder*) which had fulfilled a fantasy of mine since my early days at oswego -- those were the same model line that would crash whenever I had to do a porject on one. It was simple -- slip in fdisk, hit a few keys and DIE DELL DIE!!!! MUAHAHAHAA! *ahem* I don't have anything against dells really. Just that line. THEN we set up the new pcs and then we gave them a test boot, then imaged 'em all which took very little time and then assign names and set times and it was all over. It took a little over 4 hours and most of it was lifting and hauling. The guys I worked with from IBM were probably with the company for at least a decade or two and were super nice. They told me about how they had a job where they had to install 600 computers -- not really a surprise considering they were from IBM.

One of the guys said I handled the job like an old pro. w00t.

I hope they think of me for future opportunities. Maybe.

After work, some guy came running across the street at me and started off by telling me he wasn't going to do anything to me, he just wanted me to buy him food. FIRST OFF BUD... Don't come running at me. First thing that ran through my head was Tae Kwon Do. Secondly, I maybe dressed like a million, but I owe a million and can barely afford to feed myself. Third, since you freaked me out, NO... GO AWAY, thanks.

I'm sorry. I don't like approachy bums. I didn't like them after a friend was assaukted by one a few years ago, I didn't like them when one mugged me a few years ago and hey get OUT of my personal space. (yeah, I kinda got a closeness phobia after a certain event a few years ago) thanks. :) Go for it, call me a heartless bastard.
